appreciate the tab post here, B. not sure if this song would mesh with the sonic vibe you’re shooting for on your work-in-progress, but it’d be spookishly cool if you included it, maybe as a hidden bonus track or somthing. or saved it for your career retrospective 4 cd box-set. only this time with the howls. just wait ’til the moon is full before pressing record/play.
    shine on,as usual.

BOO, for you, what the hell. :)
    .
John, the MP3 is right there, sandwiched between “CHords & Lyrics” and “Album”. I tested it and it downloads fine for me..

why isn’t there a mp3 of your version? I can’t keep youtube open all day to listen to it :)

  5. Brooke on September 6th, 2007

It’s not MP3-worthy. Too many screw-ups. I’ll record an audio version of it sometime, though, and post it here when I do.

Brooke, you better record that song NOW cause im tired of having to log onto youtube just to hear it :D

Great work indeed, I love this song, even the cover by the meteors but in someway I find yours the most soothing :)
So put some energy into it, it matters, I promise.

    Love, Lennie

    Brooke,
That was awesome. I really enjoyed watching it. Trying to learn to play the guitar with no experience. Got any suggestions to play this song. i think i can get it, just trying to get the hang of it.

  10. Brooke on January 18th, 2008

ANgel, you’ll get it, just keep practicing. this is a good one to start out with because the chords are all basic and the rhythm is just a simple 1-2, 1-2…
    .
if you want to get a little more specific, I hit the bass note on the 1 and strum the chord on the 2.. generally.. I think.. It’s been awhile since I played this one.
    .
I’d say ‘good luck’ but learning the guitar has nothing to do with luck. So, happy practicing!

    Brooke,
thanks. I appreciate it. I been watching the video trying to pick up the notes. I got most the chords down just not the timing. One simple question do you suggest it on an acoustic rather than electric?

    Love your music/videos!
Remind me a lot of Hope Sandoval.

Can not post comments on your videos, so I thought I would tell you in a message. :)

    Ciao.

    Brooke,
You have an absolutely amazing voice. I stumbled on your cover of Karma Police going through the Radiohead music on youtube. You did a fantastic job. I’ve since listened to several other songs you covered and they’re great. I was going to comment that you sound alot like Mazzy Star and Cat Power and then I noticed you covered songs by both of them. Are you trying to work on any original songs? Would love to hear more. Good luck.

I have to say, Brooke, that since I found your video on youtube, my work productivity went down 50%, haha, I couldn’t stop watching it. You have a great voice, and I haven’t yet got a chance to listen to most of your songs because I’ve been stuck on Red Riding Hood and Stray Cat Strut. You definitely have that smooth sexy (not a come on, just the truth) voice that leads people to fame, like for instance I love that Cat Power song, and I have to say you did it well.
