Sasquatch Festival!

Ass crack of dawn, Saturday morning, we make our way to the Gorge in George, Washington to attend this groovy thing called the Sasquatch Festival. Are any of you going?

The line-up isn’t the greatest compared to previous years (which I didn’t even know about at the time so I missed. This year is the first I’ve ever heard of the Sasquatch Festival. Shut up, I lived in Alberta for three years). But I am so starved for some good live music, so it’ll be cool. B’sides, come on, Bjork? (MP3), The Arcade Fire? (MP3), The Beastie Boys?, Grizzly Bear?… all awesome! And I’m sure there are more good ones. Most of these bands I just haven’t heard before. I wish I had more time to check them all out before going, but whatever, I’m exciteded.

There are also some good comedians hosting. And look at the damn scenery! Look, damn you, look!!!

(some nifty photos I found on this guy’s blog, taken at last year’s Sasquatch):

    Will Pat-squatch be there?

You know, fat-pat, pat-squatch… wonderfalls — have you seen all the episodes?

… or, come to think of it, maybe it was fatsquatch. Either way, excellent show.

You watch wonderfalls!? Right arm. :)
We haven’t made it to fatsquatch yet. Just watched the nun/penguin/exorcism/”sode” ’sode tonight.

You have no idea how depressed I was (and still am) after I had watched the final episode knowing that that is it… no more. And this is coming from a guy who generally doesn’t give a crap about what’s on tv (ok, I don’t even own a tv).

I’m the same type of person when it comes to TV, and I do know how depressed you felt. I was at least as depressed when Carnivale was canceled.

The Arcade Fire was a religious experience.
    Bjork was utterly transcendent.
    The Gorge is Beautiful.

Good to hear your washington weekend was wholly holy, Brooke. (Hope you remembered your sunscreen). did you happen to catch Neko Case as well? her last release, ‘Fox Confessor Brings the Flood’ is a truly Fablical Musical Experience. check it out should the inclination inappropriately decide to goose you into doing so sometime. or, as it’s often oversaid, not.
    welcome back :)

thanks for the welcome! :) I did catch a little bit of neko case, but to be honest, was kind of bored by what I heard. I think my expectations were too high though, because people had been over-hyping her beforehand. I’ll keep an open mind for future encounters. ;)
We did forget our sunscreen! but luckily, we chanced upon some kind sunscreen-offering souls so we were saved. :)

You should come to Scotland and try the T in the park festival. Poor line up this year though, apart from Kings of Leon imho.

The most welcoming, friendly festival on the Summer tour…..and it’s huge.:)

We all know the Scots know how tae party, and we love good music…..maybe Brooke could try the unsigned bands tent? Why not?? :)

I would *love* to go to Scottland, and the U.K. in general. Someday…
