Here’s not one, but two awesome things I’ve recently come across.
Awesome thing #1!
If you have any use for free sound effects, samples, drum loops, audio whatevers.. and if you like them to be all three kinds of free (royalty, copyright, and just free).. and if you like websites that are actually nice n’ user-friendly with good searchability and are not ugly.. and if you like the idea of a cool community project by fellow music/sound people who all contribute original audio samples for anyone to use.. you have to check out SOUNDSNAP!

More Than 7 Good Things (A Picture Show by the Brooke)
Oh my goodness, I’ve been tagged by a ‘blog meme’! I feel so internetty. Gyrus, fellow internetter and friend of the show has tagged me. He seemed embarassed (”I don’t normally do this sort of thing…”), but I guess these things are usually quite lame, as in “list your top ten favorite kinds of bunny!” But I agree that this one’s good, as opposed to lame, so I accept and here is my response:
The challenge is to list ‘7 Positive Things‘. It must contain no traces of negativity, no sneaky inversions of things I don’t like - just seven things about which I can truthfully say, “I am all for this.”
I’ve decided to do it in the form of a picture show! I’ve also decided to go over 7 things if I feel like it (which it turns out I do), because I’m a renegade who plays by her own rules.

Night-time walks in snowy silence.
Juggling. Music. The Magical Approach. A life of one’s own design.
A healthy diet of mad wisdom, religious poetry and different perspectives.
Reverence for life.
An irreverent sense of humor (especially about yourself and your ‘art’).
Also, touques with dangly things.
I want a Hut!
Joe was just telling me about a part in “The Year of Living Biblically” in which AJ has to build a hut, but he only has an apartment, no land, so he builds it in his apartment. He totally builds a fort in his apartment! His wife is none too happy when she gets home that day, which makes me think she needs to rediscover her inner child! …but also makes me think, SERIOUSLY, I want to build a fort, with a little one-person camping mat and blankies and a lantern — a cozy sanctuary of awesomeness in our freaking living room! I’ll post photos of it when I build it because it is so getting built. But check these out! [via here].
